Ryan International School, Ambarnath got an opportunity to be part of an interactive session with Mr. Stan John and Ms. Lynn John based on the occasion of WORLD HEART DAY. The session was conducted online on 25th September 2021 i.e., Saturday on zoom where our students participated and interacted with frontline workers who were part of Ryan.
Mr. Stan John who is the part of the health care sector and also been a frontline worker during the pandemic. He is a proud alumnus of Ryan International CBSE, Kandivali. He had also completed former years of his learning in Ryan Christian School, Borivali. He is presently placed in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Currently is a Travel RN, BSN at Travel Nurse Across America.
Ms. Lynn John is a Nursing Care Tech at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.
Dr. Stan spoke about heart and heart diseases through a power point presentation. He explained it carefully and made it easy for students to understand the functioning of heart smoothly. Many students got chance to ask questions to both of them. Some curiously asked about the heart and heart disease and some were curious about COVID-19 situation. Both of them gave their ears to the curiosity of students and answered the questions very patiently. The co-ordination between both of them so visible that both of them took turns to answer the questions. He said that it hasn't been easy to handle or convince people to get treated for COVID-19 as they might be financially unstable or might think it's risky or not trustworthy but he said "we can't force them too so we need to understand their state of mind and slowly get into their world and see what is the exact problem and gain their trust". They also focused on proper diet, sleep, exercise, no consumption of alcohol and managing the stress.
The idea of this day was originated by Antoni Bayés de Luna, president of WHF , with the first celebration taking place on September 24, 2000 as cardiovascular diseases are the most common cause of death globally.
“As we celebrate WORLD HEART DAY, remember not to break but to win more and more hearts" – was quoted by our student Payal Maity who spoke on the importance of World Heart Day in the session. Our other students Ms. Anushka Sangle, Gojiri Ghandat, Mst. Yash Desai and Mst. Aayan Yadav also attended the session and gained lot of new knowledge. We all need to understand this that: “A healthy Heart is key to Healthy Life.”
